Marianne Svorken
Scientist
I work as a Scientist in the Department of Industrial Economics. My research areas are focused on various issues related to fisheries management and fisheries regulations from a social science and economic perspective. I am currently also working on my PhD, where I focus on fisheries-related crime in Norway. I apply a criminological approach where I study why we have this challenge with what is colloquially called “fisheries fraud”. I have a master’s degree in fisheries science (fisheries candidate), with a specialization in economics, from the Norwegian College of Fishery Science. Before I started at Nofima, I worked for two years in the Directorate of Fisheries (Reguleringsseksjonen).
