Coreplan
The coast is prized as a playground in which leisure as well as business activities can be enjoyed. During the Coreplan project we have examined how the authorities can manage our coastal zone while taking into account the value provided by our natural environment and safeguarding the various interests concerned.

ECCO aimed to explore the potential and implications of integrating the concept of ecosystem services in impact assessment methodology. The project focused on knowledge production in impact assessments for new industrial activities in the coastal zone, as well as the potential for and implications of applying cultural ecosystem services as a conceptual tool.

The consumption of vegetables has increased over the last years, but the sales of cruciferous vegetables (Brassica, cabbages) has been stagnant. Increased awareness of taste can increase sale of cabbage.

The successful cooperation in QuantEscape between four leading research institutions that study interactions between escaped farmed and wild Atlantic Salmon led to a second project, QuantEscape2. The project will provide knowledge that can improve the management of wild and farmed salmon and increase the sustainability of industries that depend on salmon.
RENSVEL
With the increasing use of cleaner fish, especially farmed ballan wrasse and lumpfish (and also wild-caught goldsinny wrasse), there is a need for more knowledge on the welfare of these species.

The overall aim with AQUAEXCEL2020 is to integrate the most successful research facilities within aquaculture in Europe. The project shall provide access to easily accessible high quality infrastructures, resources and services, based on aquaculture needs, and by such stimulate to excellent research and sustainable innovations to both private and public sector.

This project aims to enable fish products to retain juiciness through releasing less fluid both during production and when packaged.
Robotic Washing
The project was aimed at creating robots that can clean machines used in fish processing and fish slaughterhouses.
The goal is to develop smart labels produced with print technology. Using this technology fish can be monitored from the moment they are caught until served at the dinner table.

CtrlAQUA
CtrlAQUA is a Centre for Research-based Innovation (SFI) that will lay the foundation for the development of closed-containment concepts of the future. With greater control of the production process, it will be possible to reduce problems associated with mortality and sea lice, and to reduce the production time for farmed salmon.
