I work with muscle quality and nutrition in Atlantic salmon focusing on muscle deformity, muscle structural and muscle regulatory factors, oxidative stress, apoptosis, and fatty acid metabolism. I make use of techniques like cell culturing, quantitative PCR, microarray, cloning, immunocytochemistry, and Western blotting. I received a master degree in biotechnology from the University in Tromsø and the master thesis in medical genetics from the University Hospital North Norway. My doctoral degree within molecular fish biology and muscle regulatory factors in Atlantic salmon is from Nofima Marin (formerly Institute of Aquaculture Research) and the Norwegian University of Life Sciences.
