My main research area is lipid metabolism and nutrition in salmonids, with a special focus on adipose tissue development and the distinct roles of different fat depots. I am particularly interested in how dietary lipid composition and levels of essential fatty acids influence lipid storage, fish health, and robustness.
I have broad experience from both in vivo feeding trials and in vitro cell models, and I actively collaborate with industry and academic partners to explore the use of new and sustainable lipid sources in aquaculture feeds.
