I have been the Director of the Food Division at Nofima since April 2025. I have worked at Nofima since 2002, first as a researcher in protein chemistry and molecular biology where I worked with protein quality in wheat and meat quality, especially related to tenderness in beef and maturation of cured ham. From December 2013 I was Research director at the Food and Health Department where work is carried out on various issues within plant-based products, new protein sources and side streams and personalized food, in addition to cereal/baking technology, bioactive lipids and plant substances. Through this, I have also worked actively with diet, nutrition and health linked to the production of healthier food and have, among other things, been head of the jury for “Intensjonsavtalens utmerkelser” for several years.
I hold a MSc in biotechnology from the Department of Biology, University of Oslo (1992) and a PhD in genetics from the same place (1997) and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Department of Nutrition Research, UiO (1997-2002). I have several courses in management “Management competence”, “Interaction and management”, “Strategic management” from BI (2006, 2009, 2018) and have participated in NHO’s program “Female Future”. I have experience from several board positions, including the University of Oslo and the portfolio board for enabling technologies at the Norwegian Research Council.
