Research interests and competence I belong to the packaging group at Nofima where my focus is packaging of fish and microbiological quality of fresh fish. Additionally, I am working with packaging of different kinds of food to see the effect of packaging materials, packaging methods and their effect on food quality during storage. My Ph.D. work was focused on modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) of fresh fish with reduced headspace by use of a CO2 emitter, and quality changes during cold storage related to bacterial growth and diversity (traditional cultivation methods and analysis of bacterial 16S rDNA), sensory changes, volatile components, texture, colour, pH and liquid loss.
