Consumer insight
The food industry needs to know what the consumer likes in order to make new food products.
- Are we ready to eat algae? Insects? Sausages made from innards? Laboratory-grown meat?
- How many consumers have embraced the plant-based diet trend?
- Is it possible to increase the proportion of seafood on Norwegian dinner tables?
- What do children prefer to eat if left to choose for themselves? And young people?
- Does it matter what the food is packed in?
- And do we want exciting flavours from all over the world, or is there a growing desire to become more self-sufficient?
Consumer insight is important to food manufacturers and governments and, thus, to our researchers, too. The knowledge we acquire is conveyed to the food industry.
