Lene Sveen
PhD
Scientist
I am employed at the Fish Health research department at Nofima’s Aquaculture Division. My daily work focuses on various aspects related to fish in both fundamental research and industry-oriented research. I am particularly interested in how different environmental factors, nutrition and infectious diseases affect fish health and welfare. I have the important responsibility of developing digital tools, such as AI models for histological analyses. One of my key focus areas is the dissemination of research results and making the research accessible for a wider audience, and I actively apply my experience from teaching and consultancy work in my work as a researcher.
In 2018, I defended my PhD at the University of Bergen (UiB) with my dissertation “Aquaculture relevant stressors and their impacts on skin and wound healing in post-smolt Atlantic salmon (Salmo salar L. )”. I have a master’s degree in biochemistry from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU, 2009) and a certificate from the PPU programme in educational theory and practice (2010).
