Nofima in transition
Nofima is about to enter a necessary phase of transition that entails a reduction in the number of staff. The reason is a demanding financial situation. Rapid cost increases in society as a whole present a challenge for the research sector.
Status per 18 September:
The number of positions subject to redundancy has now been reduced to 17, due to natural attrition. Of these, 11 are R&D positions, and 6 are staff. The restructuring process has entered a phase where the affected areas of expertise have been identified.
Employees who are assessed as being at risk of redundancy will be offered severance packages and career counselling. CEO Bente Torstensen emphasises that the objective is to ensure that all employees are treated with due care and fairness, and that the process is conducted in a clear and orderly manner.
Nofima continues to carry out its activities and deliverables as normal. High quality shall remain the hallmark of all deliverables, and we will maintain an open dialogue with owners, partners, and funding bodies.
The transitional phase will commence in autumn 2025.
