Nofima seminar “Better fish welfare – six solutions”

Nofima invites all stakeholders in the aquaculture industry to a one-hour session dedicated to fish welfare and the future of farming.

How can we protect salmon from sea lice, jellyfish, or bacteria? In the aquatic environment, salmon face various threats they must live with and be protected against. We present the latest research providing you with knowledge of six solutions for improved fish welfare.

The seminar will be hosted by Bente Torstensen, who is CEO of Nofima. The research you will hear about is:

  • Lene Sveen: Why coho win the battle against lice – and atlantic salmon don’t
  • Christian Karlsen: Strategies for mitigating bacterial skin ulcerations
  • Anja Striberny: This is what the temperature does with the salmon’s health and development
  • Evan Durland: Why you should care about liver health
  • Kirsti Hjelde: Can live diagnostic tools help prevent sea loss?
