I am a research scientist working in the Production Biology Department in Tromsø. I hold a PhD from UiT – The Arctic University of Norway. In my PhD project (2013-2018) I investigated central mechanisms of appetite regulation in the Arctic charr. From 2018-2021 I was working as a postdoc with focus on smoltification in Atlantic salmon. I am particularly interested in appetite, growth and seasonal rhythms of salmonids and my expertise spans from conducting experiments with fish in tanks to analyzing transcriptomes of tissues. Technology of aquaculture production regimes are evolving at a rapid pace and for me, a main driver of doing research is to create knowledge about the fish’s physiological needs to match technology with biology.
