At Nofima, we want to help ensure that our marine resources can be used in ways that safeguard the environment, fish welfare, seafood quality, profitability and working conditions.  That is why we study various management strategies and fishery-policy instruments. 

We document how of different harvesting and fishing methods impact seafood quality and study how to create value from both traditional and new species.  

We also document how fish and shellfish should be handled as they are being harvested, once they are on board the vessel and then brought ashore to preserve their quality and value.
