Helene Skjønhals Jensen
Scientist
I am a researcher with a master’s degree in fisheries science, combining knowledge of the fishing industry with programming, data analysis and an interdisciplinary approach. My work focuses on fisheries, fishing vessels and wild-caught seafood, exploring how technology, economics and fisheries management shape the industry and coastal communities.
I combine different data sources and methods to understand connections and make research useful and accessible. I am particularly interested in communicating research findings through clear visualisations that make complex relationships easier to understand.
As a external PhD candidate at UiT The Arctic University of Norway, I research business strategy in the fishing fleet, with a particular interest in how they adapt to new technologies and changing operating conditions, and how these responses shape the fleet’s development.
