I work as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Raw Materials and Process Optimisation. My main focus is to investigate opportunities to use Raman spectroscopy to measure food quality in industrial process lines (in-line measurements), or to make rapid measurements in close proximity to the process lines (at-line measurements).

The motivation is to give the industry the tools to better manage and optimise its processes or continuously monitor the effect of relevant factors.

Examples of applications I have looked into are rapid measurements of fatty acid composition in salmon fillets and the chemical composition of residual biomass from chicken that is to be used in enzymatic hydrolysis.
