I work as a scientist in the Department of Raw Materials and Process Optimisation. My main focus is to investigate opportunities to use Raman spectroscopy to measure food quality in industrial process lines (in-line measurements), or to make rapid measurements in close proximity to the process lines (at-line measurements). The motivation is to give the industry the tools to better manage and optimize its processes or continuously monitor the effect of relevant factors. Examples of applications I have looked into are rapid measurements of fatty acid composition in salmon fillets and the chemical composition of residual biomass from chicken and salmon for enzymatic hydrolysis.
