Marte Jenssen

I work as a scientist at Nofima’s Department of Marine Biotechnology. My job involves the utilisation of marine by-products with the goal of developing products for various areas of application, such as health and nutrition. I have a master’s degree in marine biotechnology from UiT The Arctic University of Norway. In addition, I have a PhD from UiT, where I worked on an interdisciplinary antibiotic project called DigiBiotics. The project is funded by the Research Council of Norway through the Centre for Digital Life Norway. My role in the project was to discover new antimicrobial compounds produced by marine microbes, as well as the chemical and biological characterisation of these.
