My interest in the marine environment, combined with my scientific education and practical work in the marine sector, has laid the foundation for my career path in life. Since completing my master’s degree in fish health at the University of Bergen (UIB), I have worked in the veterinary pharmaceutical industry. The first 10 years were spent as a researcher at Intervet Norbio AS, where I was a project leader in vaccine development for salmonids in Norway and Chile. For the past 20 years, I have been primarily responsible at PHARMAQ AS for establishing a clinical department with a global focus. My responsibilities have included setting up R&D laboratories, hiring clinical researchers, and providing product documentation from laboratory or field trials to the company’s projects.

I have held various board positions and committee memberships, contributing to the strategic direction and project prioritization within the company. I have several publications in reputable journals, highlighting my research on fish health and vaccine development.

I hold a Cand.scient degree from the University of Bergen (UIB), where I studied intestinal immunity in Atlantic salmon. Currently, I am working on completing my PhD at the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU), focusing on developing a live attenuated vaccine for tilapia against Streptococcus agalactiae 1a.
At NOFIMA my resposibility as leader of the fish health department is to be in close contact with our scientific staff, follow-up of our projects and to identify and present our services to potential clients within the domestic and international aquaculture sector.
