I work as a researcher at Nofima and started here in August 2024. I have a master’s degree in bioinformatics (2007) and a PhD in applied statistics (2011) from NMBU. From 2011-2012, I had a six-month engagement at Nofima where I worked with analysis of spectroscopic data from milk. This was followed by a postdoc in statistics for forensic genetics at NMBU. From 2016-2024, I worked as a researcher in forensic genetics at the University of Zurich.
My background is mainly in statistical methods in genetics, especially focused on forensic genetics. I have worked on research questions related to both criminal cases and family genetics, with a focus on DNA mixtures from related contributors, linked markers, and non-invasive prenatal paternity testing. Additionally, I have worked extensively with multivariate analysis of RNA (RNA-Seq and targeted RNA) for forensic genetic applications, including classification of body fluids/cell types and age estimation of individuals.
