Agnete Jordhøy Lindstad
Scientist
I am a scientist in the packaging group at the Department of Food Safety and Quality. I hold a PhD about cellulose-based materials for food packaging applications, aiming at reducing the use of plastic while maintaining the food’s quality and shelf life. Both conventional and biodegradable materials were used as coating on fiber substrates to improve their suitability for challenging applications. I am still working on this topic, as well as other food packaging-related aspects. My work includes the use of various packaging technologies, materials and packaging machines.
I am a graduate engineer in industrial chemistry and biotechnology from the Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) in Trondheim, specializing in biotechnology and food science (2021). In my master’s thesis, conducted in collaboration with Nofima, I used molecular methods for DNA sequencing in combination with traditional morphological methods to characterize mould from cheese, with a focus on food safety.
