Summary
This report shows and discusses the development in salmon production costs, as well as the driving forces behind the development, both in Norway and in the main competitor countries. Costs in Norway continue to rise, but to a lesser extent than in recent years. Costs in competitor countries are also rising. Norwegian producers are among the most efficient, but Chile has now returned to its position as the most efficient producer country, while the Faroe Islands have weakened their cost position. Chile has seen a significant improvement in biological results, which is reflected in the costs. The Faroe Islands have lost some ground after facing greater challenges with lice and disease.
