Summary
The aim of the project is to make facts of sustainability for Norwegian aquaculture easily available. Themes and indicators for both environmental, economic and social sustainability are required. It is also important how the sustainability develops over time. Indicators both for positive and negative footprints relevant for sustainability are collected. They are presented in a web portal ("Sustainability Portal"), where status, trends and development are shown. The portal does not answer if the Norwegian aquaculture industry is sustainable or not overall, but presents figures relevant to assess the state and development for various themes. The portal is intended for everyone wanting facts about the aquaculture industry, published in one place. (and presents facts in one place.) For many themes (alternative; Themes and indicators, numbers and diagrams are automatically updated, while for others, updates come at uneven intervals. All data are based on publicly available data from authorities or research.
