Summary

Possibilities and limitations for the use of ATP-methodology for hygiene control in the salmon/trout processing industry was investigated. The methodology gives an immediate answer to the level of hygiene at a relatively low price, but cannot be regarded as an alternative to ordinary microbiological sampling.
