René Alvestad
Scientist
I am a research scientist with the Production Biology department in Nofima’s Aquaculture division. I have broad competencies within aquaculture production systems, production techniques, and water quality, as well as fish welfare and physiology. I also work with topics related to the digitalisation of aquaculture. My educational background includes an MSc in Aquaculture and Marine Resource Management, from Wageningen University and Research, and a PhD in the analysis of data from commercial salmon farming operations, from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU). I also have experience from the operation and design of aquaculture facilities.
