Research Director
I am the Research Director at the Department of Nutrition and Feed Technology in the Aquaculture Division.
I have a master’s degree in aquaculture from Wageningen University in the Netherlands and a PhD in fish physiology from Radboud University in Nijmegen, The Netherlands.
I have worked for several years as a senior scientist and research group leader at the National Institute of Nutrition and Seafood Research (NIFES), and at the Institute of Marine Research in the field of fish nutrition.
In recent years, my work has mostly involved research on the suitability of new feed raw materials for fish farming, such as insects and mussels. I have led several national and international research projects in this field.
I have also been a member on the Feed Panel of the Norwegian Scientific Committee for Food and Environment (VKM) between 2014-2022, and a member of a working group in the International Council for the Exploration of the Sea (ICES) between 2018-2023.
In addition, have held a 20 percent position as a Professor at the University of Bergen in the period 2018–2023.
