Summary
The report sums up and considers possible changes to the area management of Norwegian salmon aquaculture (both area planning and aquaculture site management), with the aim to make sea areas available and enable growth in salmon farming, while also other interests are catered for and the management is time- and cost-effective. The possible changes are considered up against three different scenarios that represent sets of sustainability challenges and major changes in the aquaculture management: more power to respectively 1) the industry itself, 2) the municipalities, and 3) the state.
