Summary

Market access is important for companies’ competitive advantage. This is especially important to international industries, such as the Norwegian seafood industry. In this report we have conducted a CAGE and a SWOT analysis to evaluate the opportunities and challenges related to market access into China, and Chinese e-commerce. The research is based on secondary data and data collection in China, in Beijing, Qingdao and Shanghai respectively. The results show that China is an interesting market given its large population and positive economic growth. There exist, however, several challenges related to differences in economic, political, administrative and cultural issues that needs to be taken into account.
