Summary
Through their purchases, seafood companies in Troms are an important contributor to sales, activity and employment in many companies, also outside their own value chain. Many suppliers have specialized in the seafood sector and can have all or a large part of their customer base here. In this report, we have considered closer purchases by fishing fleet, catch-based fishing industry, and aquaculture. In total, more than 7 billion NOK were purchased from the companies in the survey, which included the seafood, fishing fleet, fishing industry and aquaculture. The purchases from suppliers in Troms accounted for over 3.3 billion NOK in 2015.
