I am employed as a postdoctoral researcher at the Department of Seafood and work mostly on the Digifoods project.

I have expertise in quantitative and applied data analysis with an academic background in geophysics.

I moved to Tromsø from Australia in 2015 to do a master’s degree in Geology, and was so enchanted by the mountains, fjords and people here in the far north that I chose to stay. I completed my PhD in the Department of Geosciences at UiT with a focus on cryoseismology, i.e. how to use tremors and vibrations to measure the physical properties of ice and permafrost.

Here at Nofima, I work mostly with hyperspectral images and the physics related to light scattering and absorption in biological materials. We also work extensively in the field of artificial intelligence and develop machine learning algorithms to find ways to streamline food production through the smart use of sensor and scanning technologies.
