Jarle Wang-Andersen

I am the leader of BioLab and have over 25 years of experience in analytical chemistry, laboratory work and laboratory management. I have a master’s degree in organic chemistry from the University of Bergen and a professional background in chemical analysis, method development and quality assurance.
I have been employed by Nofima and associated institutions since 1998, and have held leadership roles since 2002. Since 2008, I have been head of Nofima BioLab. My work has mainly been related to analyses of marine raw materials, fish feed and ingredients, with particular emphasis on lipids, carotenoids and protein analyses. I have been responsible for and contributed to a number of method validations, reports and development of national and internal analysis methods.
I also have experience with HSE work and organizational measures, and as an employee representative in the company’s governing bodies. Furthermore, I have participated in standardization work, professional networks and conferences, both as a contributor, speaker and meeting chair.
Throughout my professional career, I have combined professional work with management responsibility and have worked with the development and operation of the laboratory within the framework given by quality systems, regulatory requirements, research and industry needs.
